The Legacy Award Luncheon is an opportunity to honor very special and deserving members of the Briscoe Museum family. Established to celebrate the philanthropic spirit of the late Texas Governor Dolph Briscoe, Jr. and his wife Janey, the museum recognizes generous contributions, advocacy, and volunteerism. We are pleased to announce the sixth annual Dolph & Janey Briscoe Legacy Award will be presented to Nancy Loeffler, whose commitment to philanthropy has significantly impacted the Briscoe Western Art Museum, our community, and South Texas. The luncheon will be held at the Jack Guenther Pavilion on October 11, 2023.
Nancy’s longtime volunteerism improved San Antonio and beyond, her continued leadership, support, and patronage helped the Briscoe Museum become one of the premier Western Art Museums in the world.
Nancy’s community service emulates her parents’ dedication to giving back. Watching them step in time and time again to meet a need or help with a cause, Nancy grew up understanding that helping others is just what you do. She never hesitates to give her time and her talent.
Nancy serves on the National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame board, is the Chair of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, and is the past Chair of the Board of the Briscoe Western Art Museum. She has served as an Independent Director of Southwest Airlines for 20 years. Nancy served as a former consultant for Frost Bank, presently serving on its Advisory Board.
As a longtime advocate of community service, Nancy Loeffler previously served as Chairman of the World Affairs Council of San Antonio. She was the past treasurer and member of the Alamo Endowment Board. She was the first woman Chair of the MD Anderson Cancer Center Board of Visitors. Nancy is a past member of The University of Texas System Chancellor’s Council, a past member of the Board of Directors of The Cancer Therapy and Research Center at UT Health San Antonio, and is past Chairman of the Advisory Board of The School of Nursing at UT Health San Antonio. She has served on the Leadership Advisory Council for San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind. Nancy was inducted into the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame in 2017.
