What is Linoleum Cut?
Linoleum Cut, also known as linocut, is a type of relief printmaking.
Linoleum is used as an alternative to wood because it is softer and much easier to carve.
Once the surface is carved, it gets inked and paper is pressed onto it using a baren.
A barren is a hand held tool used to apply pressure to the back of paper to transfer image from the linoleum to the paper.

Jack Daw is a Fort Worth printmaker who specializes in linoleum-cut block prints. He uses pop-culture imagery and texana motifs as a common language to create new metaphors and narratives that are sure to make you smile. Drawing inspiration from history, culture and identity, Daw’s work blends bold visuals with meaningful narratives.
