We seek to further art education at The Briscoe, and a big part of that is getting educators, teachers and schools involved. Find Resources to help further your teaching, or find ways you can volunteer.
The history, culture, and lived experiences of the people of Texas provide an opportunity for your students to learn the stories of the West through conversational and interactive tours. From tours that highlight modern and contemporary Western art to exquisitely crafted artifacts, you can enjoy an in-depth look at works that illuminate the Western experience.
Engage your students outside the classroom through our Outreach program designed for community partners and non-profit agencies. We bring art enrichment and STEAM activities directly to your location, providing all supplies free of charge. Email education@briscoemuseum.org to request this unique educational opportunity!
Bring the museum into your classroom with our Distance Learning program. Engage in virtual sessions, each approximately 30-45 minutes with time at the end for Q&A and Aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Discover the West from your classroom – it’s all free!
Museo Institute is a year-long professional development program that invites formal educators to explore informal learning and teaching approaches, discover opportunities for collaboration, and create lessons and activities that merge the best practices of informal and formal education to the benefit of students. Upon successful completion of the program, educators receive up to 70 CPE credit hours, research-based curriculum resources from leading institutions, and new methods for teaching both in the museum and in each educator’s unique setting.Â
