Released in 1964, the movie is the first film in Sergio Leone’s iconic “Man with No Name” trilogy and marked Clint Eastwood’s breakout role as the mysterious, poncho-clad gunslinger.
Set in a dusty border town torn apart by two feuding families – the ruthless Rojos and the cunning Baxters –the story follows a stranger who arrives and plays both sides against each other in a dangerous game of deception, strategy, and survival. With a minimalist script, striking visuals and an unforgettable score by Ennio Morricone, the film redefined the Western genre and launched the era of the Spaghetti Western.
